La Pietà at St. Patrick's Cathedral

$230.00

A peaceful place in the heart of Manhattan, where I sometimes I find myself. I’ll spend most my time in the Cathedral looking over this Pietà statue. It is so beautiful and masterfully done. It’s 3x the size of Michelangelo’s in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. This statue not a copy of that though — but an original Pietà, sculpted in 1906 by William Ordway Partridge. I am happy for the moments I stood there to draw it, up-close and in-person. 8.5’’ x 5.5’’ tan toned paper, graphite and white charcoal drawing.
